Stunning Year for Huawei at MWC 2019

Despite politically motivated business challenges on some fronts, Huawei has had a stunning run at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019. In addition to the introduction of its first foldable smartphone the Mate X it also announced multiple other products including the updated MateBook X Pro, new MateBook 13 and MateBook 14 and the 5G CPE  Pro.

Despite a total global smartphone shipments showing a decline in 2018 Huawei has actually increased market share to an 18.2% in Q4 2018, up 2%. Its strong suit of powerful and sleek devices has no doubt played a pivotal role in that but the company is also playing a pivtal role in future technologies such as 5G.

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro was named “Best Smartphone” at MWC 2019 in recognition of its powerful performance, outstanding camera system, long battery life, innovative charging solutions and striking design. According to Kevin Ho, President of Handset Business, Huawei Consumer BG, the HUAWEI Mate 20 Series leverages on the company’s groundbreaking technologies to bring consumers the ultimate user experience.

Powered by the world’s first 7nm mobile AI chipset Kirin 980, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro offers users top-class performance and battery life while supporting 40W Huawei SuperCharge, one of the fastest smartphone charging solutions on the market. The Matrix Camera System incorporates the Leica Ultra Wide Angle Lens and runs on top of EMUI 9.0, Huawei’s nature-inspired Android-based custom operating system.

The updated MateBook X Pro is the company’s first FullView notebook which combined extreme portability, a premium FullView display, cutting-edge performance and smart connectivity. Introducing the Huawei MateBook 13 and MateBook 14

Although targeting mainstream consumers, these revolutionary notebooks support intelligent inter-connectivity between smart devices and PCs, redefining how devices can interact and connect with each other.

Both the MateBook 13 and MateBook 14 feature a stunning and portable FullView screen engineered to have a 3:2 productivity aspect ratio and a minimalized bezel display supporting 10-point multi-touch.  Both notebooks support new convenience features like Fingers Gestures Screenshot.

Introducing 5G with the CPE Pro

One of their first devices to be armed with the Balong 5000 modem, the Huawei 5G CPE Pro supports both 4G and 5G wireless connections. At 5G speeds a 1GB HD video clip can be downloaded within three seconds, and 8K video can be streamed smoothly without lag.

The application possibility is more than just for home use though, as it can also be used by small and medium-sized enterprises for super-fast broadband access. The 5G CPE Pro supports Huawei HiLink protocols.
