Corsair MP510 NVMe SSD Hits Impressive Speed Thresholds

Corsair has just announced its Force Series MP510 M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD, its newest competitor in the arena of high-performance M.2 solid state drives. The company is advertising MP510 speeds at impressive rates of up to 3,480MB/sec (sequential read) and up to 3,000MB/s (sequential write). These are figures that would put the MP510 a notch above Samsung’s EVO NVMe drives and Western Digital’s Black NVMes.

Available in 240GB, 480GB, 960GB, and 1920GB capacities, the MP510 offers extreme storage performance in the ultra-compact and simple M.2 2280 form factor, fitting directly into a motherboard or notebook. The drive gets its impressive speeds from the ultra high-speed NVMe PCIe Gen3 x4 M.2 interface.

Corsair utilizes high-density 3D TLC NAND flash memory in the drive and combines that with thermal management that channels heat away from the PCB. Fast chips plus an effective cooling solution are undoubtedly what contribute to the performance of this impressive module.

The MP510, along with the entire range of MP500 SSDs, is also compatible with Corsair SSD Toolbox software, enabling advanced drive controls such as secure erase and firmware updates directly from your desktop. Endurance is rated from between 400 TBW up to 3,120 TBW depending on model selected. All drives are also backed with a five-year warranty.

Pricing and availability have yet to be announced.
