OPPO has officially launched its latest range of premium flagship devices under the banner of the Find X2 5G Series. As one of the first smartphones to be equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 mobile platform, the Find X2 5G and Find X2 5G Pro are not only ready to support 5G networks when they arrive in Malaysia, but also provide users with powerful performance and an amazing immersive experience, all in one package.
Amazing visuals with a 120Hz, 10-bit and 3K resolution screen
These smartphones offer an immersive visual experience. They are equipped with one of the best 6.78-inch QHD+ (1,440 x 3,168 pixels) AMOLED displays in the market today. Additionally, its Ultra Vision camera system lets you capture unrivalled photos and videos.
The AMOLED screen is the most advanced screen that OPPO has developed to-date. It has a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz sampling rate for ultra-smooth videos, a pixel density of 513ppi, a contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1 and a maximum brightness of 800nit. Even more impressive is the fact that the display has 10-bit colour, which can display 1 billion colours, for an enhanced visual experience. Furthermore, it can boost the brightness up to 1,200nit when viewing HDR content. These devices are also the first devices in the market that can convert normal video content into HDR-like content.
Further pushing the boundaries of display, the Find X2 series 5G supports Motion Clear – a video enhancement technology that can significantly increase the frame rate of videos that are below 30 fps, to 60 or even 120 fps. This allows fluid screen time when watching fast-paced videos.
Breath-taking imaging with a powerful camera system
Complementing this superb display panel on the Find X2 Pro 5G is OPPO’s most powerful triple-camera Ultra Vision Camera system that received 1st place in DXOMark rating. The system is the first to support All Pixel omni-directional PDAF (Phase-detect auto focus) with 12-bit image capturing capabilities on a mobile device. The All Pixel omni-directional PDAF technology allows for lightning-fast autofocusing with up to a 97 per-cent success rate, while the 12-bit image capturing ensures maximum details are captured.
Its main camera is a 48MP camera that is powered by a customised Sony IMX689 sensor. Additionally, there is a 48MP ultra wide-angle camera that is based on the Sony IMX586 sensor and a 13MP periscope telephoto camera that supports both optical and electronic stabilisation. When working in tandem, the Find X2 Pro has a hybrid zoom of 10x and a digital zoom up to 60x. For wide-angle shots, users have a maximum angle of 120 degrees to compose their shots.
As for the Find X2 5G, it comes with a quad-camera system that is anchored by a primary 48MP camera. Wide-angle shots are handled by an 8MP wide-angle camera. Additionally, those who like to shoot in black-and-white will appreciate that this phone has a dedicated monochrome camera, as well as a portrait camera, both of which are 2MP, for rich black-and-white portrait shots.
Another aspect of photography that the Find X2 Series 5G shines in, is low-light photography. OPPO has updated its low-light camera algorithm and introduced Ultra Night Mode 3.0, which comes with the new Ultra Dark Mode. In these modes, low-light photography is no longer a challenge.
For content creators that prefer shooting videos, this smartphone has Ultra Steady Video 2.0 and 10-bit Live HDR video recording. Furthermore, there is a 3-Mic audio recording system that not only offsets wind noise and enhances voices, but also captures 3D spatial audio.
Selfie-lovers on the other hand, will appreciate the fact that both smartphones sport 32MP front-facing cameras that is supplemented by AI for amazing-looking selfies.
Blazingly fast
In addition to blazing fast 5G speeds, these smartphones come with 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 flash charging technology, which lets users fully-charge the phone’s battery in a mere 38 minutes. To ensure safe usage throughout the charging process, there are five levels of protection embedded into the power adapter, wire and device itself. There is a custom-designed battery safety monitoring chip in the smartphone that monitors the battery status during charging and tracks the battery health in real-time. Heat is managed via a VC thermal board and three layers of graphite covers. The Find X2 5G has a 4,200mAh battery, while the Find X2 Pro 5G has a 4,260mAh battery.
The Find X2 Series offers incredibly fast performance as well. These smartphones are the first devices to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 mobile platform and the company’s X55 5G modem-RF System, which supports multi-gigabit speeds of up to 7.5 Gbps. This powerful mobile platform works in tandem with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.0 storage. LPDDR5 RAM supports data transfer rates of up to 5,500Mb/s, while UFS 3.0 storage offers sequential read and write speeds of up to 2,100 MB/s and 410 MB/s respectively.
In terms of gaming capabilities, the Snapdragon 865 mobile is supplemented by the new Adreno 650 GPU, which comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite Gaming features that can effortlessly support any mobile game, with desktop-level performance.
Beyond ordinary features
The Find X2 Series 5G are available in two editions – a black variant that uses ceramic and an orange variant that incorporates vegan leather. The ceramic variant is made using a micron-etching process, which results in a finish that is smooth as silk and has anti-slip properties. The vegan leather version on the other hand is made with high-end PU environmentally friendly material that offers a soft and delicate finish. In terms of protection against the elements, there’s no need to worry about minor spills as the OPPO Find X2 Pro 5G has an IP68 rating, while the OPPO Find X2 5G has an IP54 rating.
To ensure the full capabilities of these smartphones are realised, both devices run on OPPO’s ColorOS 7.1, which is based on the Android 10 OS. Developed with the objective to make navigating through the phone as intuitive as possible, OPPO focused on the aesthetics. ColorOS 7.1 offers reduced contrast for better eye comfort, standardised the look and feel of more than 200 third-party app icons and included a new Dark mode. It’s also big on productivity thanks to in-built apps that allow users to perform calls, schedule meetings, wireless print documents and more.
Pre-order temptations
The OPPO Find X2 5G will be available at RM3,999 while the OPPO Find X2 Pro 5G is at RM4,599. Consumers can pre-order both devices at every OPPO Concept Store, OPPO Official dealer stores or online at OPPO Official Website, e-commerce partners; telco partners namely Celcom, Maxis, Digi and OPPO Chain store partners Sen Heng, senQ, DirectD and also Aeon Credit.
There will be a pre-order promotion happening for both devices. The offer will run from 6 March 2020 to 13 March 2020 for the OPPO Find X2 5G version, while the OPPO Find X2 Pro 5G pre-order promotion will run from 6 March 2020 to 20 March 2020. Customers who pre-ordered during the promotional period will receive a VOOC Flash charge powerbank worth RM229 and an extended 1-year warranty with 3 months screen protection worth RM299 totalling the amount of freebies at RM528. The promotional gifts can be collected at any OPPO stores in Malaysia.
There will also be an additional roadshow gift to go along with the pre-order promotion. Available only at Pavillion roadshow on 14 March 2020 for the Find X2 5G standard version and 21 March 2020 for the Find X2 Pro 5G version, the first 300 customers to pick up their phones will receive one set of Enco Free true wireless earphones worth RM499 for free for both dates. That makes a total of RM1,027 worth of freebies with the purchase of Find X2 Series.
For pre-order purchases outside of the Klang Valley, customers will also be able to receive the roadshow and pre-order gifts on 14 and 21 March for the Find X2 and Find X2 Pro respectively. Customers will need to make the pre-order at selected OPPO Experience Stores and collect them at the store to be able to redeem the RM1,027 worth of free gifts.
