Meet The Allure smart mirror

From smart cars to smart watches, you would think that we’ve heard it all. Enter The Allure by FRED Technologies, a follow-on product to what they call the world’s first luxury smart mirror, the Mirror.

“As a smart lifestyle products company, we are constantly innovating to bring exceptional smart products to become able digital assistants for our customers. The new Allure is yet another product that we believe will become a much-loved beauty assistant for the discerning consumers,” says Jonathan Yuan, CEO and founder, FRED Technologies.

Just going by the name, we were already imaging The Allure to display time, the weather and all sorts of other nifty widgets alongside your image. FRED, however, has gone the unexpected route, interestingly marketing it as ‘compact and is specially designed for the sophisticated lady who exalts her skincare and makeup regime and demands a smart digital mirror assistant’.

How much exactly those two go together we are not quite certain but what we do know is that the first mirror was a full-length tall mirror meant for hallways and bathrooms, while The Allure is a beauty mirror that fits on dressing tables or office desks.

Here is where The Allure gets interesting

According to FRED, The Allure is much more than just a mirror with strapped on smart widgets that can do everything including stream curated beauty content such as the latest makeup news. The Allure also boasts a ‘Natural Sunlight’ feature which illuminates the user’s face with a LumièreMax rim lighting to mimic the sunlight in any room setting.

It also has a ‘Virtual Reality’ that allows users to overlay simulated lipstick on an image of the user’s face, taken through a built-in camera which scans that into the system. Not sure which lipstick colour to wear today? Go for the demo and choose it after visual approval, no makeup remover required!

There is also a pre-loaded app which helps ladies monitor their menstrual cycles, letting them know exactly which stage of their cycle they are in. Not sure about you, but that is a little TMI for me.

The Allure is available for pre-order in Rose Gold and will retail for S$499. If you pre-order online now, there is a 5% discount.

For those heading down to Singapore you can also catch it at Ion Orchard Proof Living, Scanteak Signature at Singapore Post Centre, and Scanteak Signature at Suntec City Mall.
