Digi Introduces Lifetime Rebates for Senior Citizens

Digi announced it is providing a special lifetime privilege for senior citizens. All registered Digi postpaid customers aged 60 years and above can now enjoy an RM10 rebate on Digi’s best value plans from as low as RM28 monthly for 6GB of data. This initiative is part of Digi’s Yellow Heart commitment to empower more Malaysians with easy connectivity to what matters most.

Joachim Rajaram, Digi’s Chief Corporate Affairs Officer said “We are constantly thinking of different ways to include many more Malaysians as the world becomes increasingly digital, either through new connectivity options for easy access to the internet or digital solutions to power their everyday life. The senior citizens offer is one way we hope to bring new meaningful services to customers, where targeted communities can be a part of the digital journey with a simple click of a button. We will continue rolling out these Yellow Heart responsible brand initiatives through our community programmes, products and services, as well how we serve customers across all our touchpoints.”

Starting today, all eligible Digi customers will receive an in-app notification on their MyDigi app to activate this privilege offer. The offer can be redeemed in the Box of Surprise feature on MyDigi. The rebates are automatically reflected in the subsequent month’s bill. Similar notification alerts for this lifetime rebate will be sent to other Digi customers as they reach the age requirement of 60 years old.

Earlier this year, Digi introduced a similar lifetime RM10 rebate programme for persons with disabilities (PWDs). Eligible customers can apply for this rebate at any Digi Store with their original identity card (NRIC) and OKU card. To make it easier, third party registrations by family members or legal guardians are also allowed with proof of legal guardianship and additional necessary documents. In addition to this, Digi has also taken steps to ensure priority customer experiences are provided in its stores for persons with disabilities (PWDs), seniors and pregnant women. The express lanes and personalised support for these select group of customers are available in all 30 Digi Stores nationwide.

Over the years, Digi has carried out various outreach initiatives under its Yellow Heart programme to help more Malaysians develop digital competencies and learn how to keep safe on the internet. Among the programmes that have driven this ambition include future skills learning for marginalised communities, as well as a variety of Yellow Heart internet safety activities for schoolchildren to ensure our future generations cultivate safe and healthy internet practices.
