Corsair has just introduced an upgrade in its Obsidian series of minimalist design casings, the Obsidian 500D. Adding premium smoked glass tempered side panels, the 500D also features the signature Obsidian curved, brushed black aluminium construction for that sleek look.
Both tempered glass side panels are hinged to the rear and completely removable, allowing you to keep them out of the way during installation. On the inside, the 500D comes with dual SP120 cooling fans to help cool your rig. Airflow is streamlined with Corsair’s Direct Airflow Path design along with capacity for up to six 120mm cooling fans. If you’re going for water cooling, there is space for a 360mm radiator.
Fan trays are in the roof and front, and for easier cleaning, there are removable dust filters on the front, roof and floor
Capacity-wise there are dedicated mounts for up to two 3.5in HDDs and three 2.5in SSDs, while a PSU shroud and cable channel behind the motherboard offers the potential for you to easily setup a clean interior. Super-speed USB 3.1 Type-C front panel connectivity and a vertical GPU mount ensure the 500D is future-proof too.
