It’s always good to see when corporates put their backs to good use and support charities. This time round Corsair comes up with something that’s a little more interesting, suitable for their strengths as a performance part company AND has the potential for a much wider outreach. Corsair is going to hold its very first gaming-themed charity livestream event on July 29. The all-day event will be happening at their HQ in Fremont, California with the aim to benefit Save the Children. Save the Children is a humanitarian organization that works to ensure that every last child has a healthy start, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm.
Eight of Corsair’s top gaming influencers – including AnneMunition, MANvsGAME and Bajheera – will be participating in a tournament-style stream divided up into two teams and competing against each other to raise the most money for Save the Children. Corsair will be matching every dollar up to US $25,000 that is raised during the event.
The two influencer teams will participate in a wide variety of games including shooters, MOBAs and strategy games. Donators can decide which team to cheer for by donating to that team and choosing different “challenges” for the team to face while playing. Both team’s donations will be combined at the end of the stream for one grand total for Save the Children.
Corsair will also be giving away prizes such as Corsair GLAIVE RGB mice, VOID USB headsets, and MM800 RGB POLARIS mouse mats. If $25,000 is reached during the stream, CORSAIR will give away a grand prize of a Corsair ONE.
“We are excited to be supporting Save the Children in our first-ever live stream charity event.” said Thi La, COO of Corsair. “This livestream will not only be fun and entertaining for all – but will also provide a means for gamers to give children around the world the future they deserve. I am proud that CORSAIR can help contribute to this effort, and look forward to continuing to give back to our community.”
“Save the Children is thrilled to be the beneficiaries of Corsair’s first charity stream,” said Ettore Rossetti, Sr. Director, Social Business Strategy & Innovation. “Save the Children has been working with the online gaming community through its ‘Be A Life Force’ initiative, which aims to inspire the online community to game, stream and vlog to help children in need. We have found that the gaming community is incredibly generous and inspired to help kids, and we are very much looking forward to this event.”
Donations to Save the Children can be made through www.corsair.com/gaming, where all additional stream information can also be found. The event will be streamed live at www.twitch.tv/corsair beginning on July 29 at 9am PST (July 30, 5am Malaysia Time).
