While it’s not normally the kind of thing that we expect form BenQ, there it is – the BenQ ZOWIE EC-B series eSports mouse. The mouse is equipped with the Avago 3360 sensor, an upgrade from the original popular Avago 3310 sensor used in all previous Zowie Mice.
The 3360 sensor is similar in performance below 2000 dpi to the 3366 sensor that Logitech uses in its G series mice. The 3360 has lower latency than the original 3310 and offers a higher maximum acceleration as well as resolution.
Aside from the sensor upgrade, the EC-B series has a USB report rate switch with indicator lights at the bottom of the mouse. Although this is claimed by BenQ to make adjusting settings more convenient, it seems to us the opposite. Even worse is that they’ve also shifted the DPI indicator light to the bottom of the mouse as well.
Other changes include the shift in design from 2 large mouse feet to 4 smaller ones.
BenQ has collaborated with Valve and will be releasing a CS:GO version of EC-B series for fans of both CS:GO and ZOWIE later.
To complete the set, so to speak, there is also the ZOWIE G-SR SE for those who enjoyed the feeling of the old G-SR blue mousepad. This mouse pad comes in a printed design to parallel the old ZOWIE G-SE blue which some players miss.
Both the EC1-B and EC2-B are now available on BenQ’s official store on Lazada.
The EC-B Series retails at RM 419 while the G-SR SE goes for RM 189
